At the recent Alzheimer Europe Conference in Geneva, the Pattern-Cog project made a strong presence through presentations by members of its team.
The 34th Alzheimer Europe Conference, held under the theme “New Horizons – Innovating for Dementia,” took place in Geneva from 8 to 10 October 2024. The event attracted more than 960 delegates from 42 European countries, all sharing their research, knowledge, and experiences in an atmosphere of true collaboration and solidarity.
Soraya Moradi Bachiller from Alzheimer Europe presented alongside Paddy Crosbie, a member of the European Dementia Carers Working Group and the Pattern-Cog Advisory Board. Their joint presentation focused on the Alzheimer Europe position paper on risk disclosure, emphasising the crucial role of public involvement in shaping its recommendations. Paddy shared his personal experiences, highlighting how his insights and those of other carers significantly influenced the development of the position paper.
Elaheh Moradi from University of Eastern Finland presented two Pattern-Cog posters. Her first poster focused on the detection of amyloid-beta (Aβ) pathology using machine learning approaches and plasma measures. The second poster explored the prediction of cognitive decline in early stage of Alzheimer’s disease through the use of plasma biomarkers.
Mark your calendars for the next Alzheimer Europe Conference, to be held in Bologna, Italy, from 6-8 October 2025, under the motto “Connecting science and communities: The future of dementia care.”
